Mariah's Story

Mariah and her boyfriend Thomas planned to join the Navy together. During training she began to feel sick. Initially she thought it was simply from the stress of training, until a pregnancy test said otherwise. While Thomas was away at boot camp, she faced the news alone. Overwhelmed with fear and shame, she scheduled an abortion appointment, believing it was the only way to keep pursuing her dreams.

Before the appointment, one final search led her to Triad Pregnancy Care. From the moment she walked onto our mobile clinic, Ruby Marie, she was met with compassion instead of judgment. The nurses listened to her fears, encouraged her, and reminded her that God’s plans may look different than ours, but different doesn’t mean worse.

At her next ultrasound appointment, everything changed. On the screen, Mariah saw not one heartbeat, but two… twins! In that moment, fear collided with love, and she knew she wanted to choose life. Before the appointment was over, her mom was calling family with the exciting news. Mariah and Thomas realized the dream they thought was over was simply being rewritten. Though her pregnancy brought complications and hospital stays, Sofia and Rosalinda, were born on December 8th and came home from the NICU on Christmas Day.

Today, Mariah says she can’t imagine life without her daughters. She often reflects on how different her story could have been if she had never walked into Triad Pregnancy Care. Because of Triad Pregnancy Care and the support of people like you, women like Mariah who find themselves scared, overwhelmed, and convinced their dreams are over… encounter hope instead of pressure.
